“Gol posht o ru nadâreh”
A flower has no front or back
This is one of the hardest shots that i have taken. This is Kandovan, ancient village in East Azerbaijan province of Iran near the mountain Sahand. The ancient people excavated their homes in the volcanic Kandovan rock formed 140.000 years ago. People still uses the rock houses and continue their daily life.
Even though it is a touristic village, local people was not familiar with photographers. Especially women are not allowed to be photographed without a permission.
This Persian woman was walking from the foothills of the rock up to her house placed in the rock, carrying laundry box full of clothes. When I realized how she was looking at me with her harshest expressions, i had already taken 3 photos. I was warned by the man who was guiding us that she might tell to her husband and may cause some problem.
In order not to disturb anyone with this situation, I waited there for a while so that I could delete the photos when they wanted, but no one came and asked for this.
